STRATEGIC PLAN for 2009

The Board decided to focus on three important aspects of church life and look for improvement in each of these areas:

Discipleship

The Reveal Survey will guide the process of discipling. We will assess what the needs of the church are from the results of this survey and plan ministry strategies that are need-based. We will seek to move people along the spiritual continuum until they reach the ‘close to Christ’ category as outlined in the survey results. Each of the ministries will have as their goal to see people, youth and children grow in a deeper relationship with God.

This effectiveness of changes in ministry strategy resulting from this survey will be assessed by two annual repeat surveys we have paid for in advance.

Outreach

It was identified that there are many marginal people who attend our church from time to time without becoming involved. We will seek ways of integrating these people into a closer relationship with God and the church family

The Board was made aware of community needs and would like to see ministries that meet some of these needs. They cautioned not to duplicate efforts that are already being met through community organizations This was delegated to the Senior Pastor to pursue.

Senior Pastor to investigate the possibility of ministering to the large number of Filipinos now living in Bonnyville.

Leadership

Train and develop new leaders. Care should be taken not to over-burden those who are already involved in ministries by asking them to take on new ministries.

The following overarch the above:

Vision

The vision of the church presented by the Senior Pastor, namely to disciple and reach lost people for Jesus, should not be allowed to dissipate.

Prayer

We want to be a praying church that does not rely on its own resources but rather knows that the source of power is in God alone.
